Reading
At Webster we encourage reading and making that a part of your daily routine.
"The more that you read, The more things you will know. The more that you learn, The more places you'll go." ~Dr. Seuss |
Writing
Show your child how important writing is by identifying how often you use writing in your daily life. By helping your child see the real life applications you will help support their growth.
|
Math
Math is all around us. Have your child help you count when grocery shopping or have them count as high as they can when you are traveling from place to place.
Encouraging them to use their math skills and helping them make real life applications will support a love of math learning. |
Math Fact Fluency
By the end of first grade, students should know all of their math facts for numbers through 12 with automaticity. |
Dining Etiquette
We are working very hard to practice and develop table manners during our lunch time together. The students are encouraged to have conversations together and share the dining responsibilities.
Please have your child practice these skills to reinforce them at home as well. |
Social Skills
Currently in first grade, we are really working on learning how to solve problems when their are conflicts with others.
|
Engineering
We have had many opportunities this year to move through the engineering process. As the year continues we will reinforce what engineers do and the impact engineers have on our daily lives.
|
Handwriting
We are working on handwriting at school. Right now we are working on making our writing uniform in size across the paper.
